{"id":694,"date":"2014-01-08T12:00:36","date_gmt":"2014-01-08T12:00:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.awisdc.org\/?p=694"},"modified":"2014-01-07T23:07:46","modified_gmt":"2014-01-08T04:07:46","slug":"2014-mentoring-circles-kick-off-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.awisdc.org\/?p=694","title":{"rendered":"2014 Mentoring Circles Kick-Off Event!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We&#8217;re all set and ready to go for the 2014 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.awisdc.org\/?page_id=331\">Mentoring Circles Program!<\/a><\/p>\n<h5>A Mentoring Circle is a group of participants that meets for an agreed upon length of time on an ongoing basis for the purpose of discussing career and\/or personal development topics.\u00a0 The Mentoring Circles meet in a group format on equal footing, with no designated &#8220;mentors&#8221; or &#8220;mentees.&#8221; This allows group members to exchange experiences, challenges, opportunities, and advice for the purpose of enhancing self-confidence, communication skills, leadership practices, and commitment to one\u2019s career. Last year&#8217;s Mentoring Circles were a great success, and we look forward to getting started this year.<\/h5>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Our 2014 mentoring circles program will run for a full year, beginning with:<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>Mentoring Circles Kick-off<\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><b>In partnership with the\u00a0<\/b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.aaas.org\/program\/science-technology-policy-fellowships\" target=\"_blank\"><b>AAAS Science &amp; Technology Policy Fellowship program<\/b><\/a><b><\/b><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><strong>January 29, 2014<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">AAAS Building<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">1200 New York Ave, NW<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Washington DC, 20005<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\"><b>5:30 PM:<\/b>\u00a0 Light refreshments and networking<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\" align=\"center\">\u00a0<b>6:30PM:<\/b>\u00a0\u00a0Panel Discussion featuring 2013 Mentoring Circle Participants who will\u00a0share their experience and answer questions asked by the audience.
